Non-Classical Kids Dance Group Competitions

Date and Time: Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 6:00 PM  

Reporting Time : 5:00 PM 

Venue: Keefe Regional Technical High School, 750 Winter St, Framingham, MA 01702

Registration Mandatory: Please use this link to register ASAP as registration MAY CLOSE PRIOR to an announced date based on the response. 

TIME: Please read below for REPORTING and STARTING TIME FOR THE COMPETITIONS : (No exceptions for delay in reporting time).  Also note the duration of the performances for each categories 

General Guidance

• Please report on time at the venue (No exceptions for delay)

• Your item number will be given to you when you check in at the venue on the day of the performance 

• Participants going over the time limit in the rules will incur a 1 point penalty for every 10 to 30 secs over time limit.

• Judges’ Decision and Results are FINAL

• Participants must be within the age range as of January 1, 2025 for all competitions  

Common Rules 

• Participants can perform on any Indian non-classical songs (Movie, folk, semi-classical, Album, Fusion) in Tamil language only.

• Dance Attire - Appropriate dance costumes should be worn appealing to the audience; the cultural team can disqualify the team for inappropriate costumes  

• Please come fully dressed and be prepared to go on stage for the time slots given when called by cultural team                    

• Green Room available 

• No Alta on Premises

• You can let the MTS cultural designated person backstage know whether you will start the dancing from inside or on stage. 

• Any form of coaching or prodding during the performance is strictly prohibited and will lead to disqualification.

• The following items are NOT allowed to be used in performance: Water,  Fire, Confetti,  Smoke machines and Electrical props

• Reporting Time, Program Time, Age Group, Age category, Duration of Performance

  1.  Reporting Time 5: 00 pm; Program Time 6:00 PM; Age: 5 to 8 years; Kids; 5 minutes

  2.  Reporting Time 5: 00 pm; Program Time 6:00 PM; Age: 9 to 13 years; Sub - Juniors; 6 minutes

• Technique and Synchronization ( 20 marks) 

• Showmanship ( 20 marks) 

• Creativity (20 marks)

• Abhinaya ( 20 marks)
