General Guidance
Please report on time at the venue (No exceptions for delay)
Your item number will be given to you when you check in at the venue on the day of the performance
Participants going over the time limit in the rules will incur a 1 point penalty for every 10 to 30 secs over time limit.
Judges’ Decision and Results are FINAL
Participants must be within the age range as of January 1, 2025 for all competitions
Please come fully dressed in appropriate festive Indian Stage Attire and be prepared to go on stage for the time slots given
Common Rules
Participants must say what thalam they are playing at the beginning of the rendition.
Participants can play any Thalam.
Participants need to set the pace by showing the thala by hand before beginning to play.
Shruti or Tambura accompaniment is encouraged. If using accompaniment, it should be tuned.
If the participant can do konnakol or say the Korvai while putting the thala before playing it, there will be extra points awarded.

Age Group, Age category, Duration of Performance
8 to 10 years; Sub- Juniors; 5 minutes
11 to 13 years; Juniors; 6 minutes
14 to 17 years; Senior : 8 minutes

Kalapramanam /Tempo/Laya (10 marks)
Korvai Execution (10 marks)
